2019 Program

  • 13 scholars completed the program
  • 10 scholars gave podium presentations (3 with a poster)
  • Group was comprised of:
    • 10 nurses
    • 1 registered dietician
    • 1 chaplain
    • 1 physical therapist
  • Scholars worked at MMC and St. Josephs Rehabilitation & Residence
  • Most initiatives were evidence-based practice or quality improvement projects
  • 2 scholars started a research project and later received an IRB approval

2020 Program

  • 16 scholars started the program (interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic and related re-deployments)
  • In-person workshops were transitioned to online platforms (heavily impacting mentor/scholar work and limiting close collaboration)
  • Scholars worked at MMC (10) and Mid Coast Hospital (1)
  • 2020 participants represented the practice of:
    • Nursing
    • Spiritual care
    • Nutrition services
    • Physical, occupational and speech therapy
  • Most initiatives were evidence based-practice or quality improvement projects
  • 1 scholar started a research study focusing on care team resilience during the pandemic
  • 1 scholar later received the 16th Annual Evidence-Based Practice and Quality Improved Award for her project
