The Purse Project

Every year, the Nursing Professional Excellence Council organizes a community outreach project for MMC care team members.  In 2019-2020, they worked collaboratively with Catholic Charities of Maine on the “Purse Project.”

MMC care team members collected gently used purses and filled them with travel-sized toiletry items. The purses were distributed to women in the community facing poverty and recent survivors of domestic abuse.  Team members collected over 150 purses, along with enough toiletries to stuff all of them.
